My Top 10 Most Influential Anime

This started as a Top 10 Favorite Anime post, but I realized it would be hard to justify some of my favorites without going over the shows that brought me to where I am today. So this turned into a Top 10 Most Influential Anime post…then I realized I had 11 that needed to be mentioned and said “fuck the rules! I’ll do it anyway”.

Some of these are in my Top 10 favorites, and some of them aren’t. Think of this more as a post on my development as an anime fan and watcher. I know it’s a lot of shit, but I think it’s an entertaining and insightful read. So read it all or I’ll cut out your liver.

I listed the shows in a (roughly) chronological viewing order.

The Adventurous, The Cautious, and every problem starts with a woman.

I’m gonna relate this shit to TTGL, so if you hate it or haven’t seen it, maybe you won’t get it. Chances are you can still relate anyway. Also, for those who can’t read my blurb on the side there —>> my site does contain spoilers. Fair warning.

It begins simple enough…

“What happened to your spirit of adventure?” She chimed in as I continued to stare at the floor, waiting for my shift to be over.
“I guessed it died somewhere a while back” I replied. “Too many bad experiences”.

As I walked out to my car I started asking myself: where did my spirit of adventure go? Did I even have one to begin with? By the time I’d finished my drive home, I was in a state of confusion rivaling some of the best I’ve ever had to date.

News Update 07/26/08

  • Due to some things that came up on the part of my interviewee, the interview post has been delayed. It (hopefully) should be up by next Friday. Sorry!
  • I’m working on a sexy fall preview…which is consuming most of my post creativity.
  • I saw The Dark Knight. I’ve always thought that Batman was a pretty lame character in genereal, but the Joker was off the chain.
  • My goal for the upcoming week is to get my blogroll up to snuff, so if you aren’t on it and want to be, let me know.
  • To everyone who’s added me on msn/gtalk, I appreciate it. I hope you’ve enjoyed the conversations…I know I have. As for the rest of you: what are you waiting for?

I know, crappy filler post, but things have been a wee bit hectic around here.
